Willacy County Public Meeting 1, January 13, 2011

The meeting was held for Willacy County at the LE Franks Travel Center.

The meeting started with a public viewing of mapping exhibits at 5pm; the mapping exhibits included the following:

A formal presentation began approximately at 6pm; the presentation included: WillacyCoPPT-Jan13-2011.

Several items, issues, and/or suggestions resulted from the meeting –

• Discussion regarding pumping to the USIBWC floodway and agreement requirments and expansion features.
• Control features for the existing drains.
• Discussion regarding the Project Identification Summaries and Evaluation Criteria for documentation and ranking of the projects.
• Follow-up visits for data collection and project identification. Team members awaiting for Willacy County's GIS to be updated by other contracted source.
• Definition of colonias.
